Conserving a henna tattoo for longer

Henna tattoos have been used in Eastern cultures for hundreds of years; traditionally they used in wedding ceremonies and other celebrations to decorate their hands and feet with bold designs similar to lace. Today, henna tattoos are widespread in the Western world as a temporary tattoo ink permanent alternative. Henna comes in the form of paste and applied on the skin with a brush, sometimes using a template. Your tattoo will last from one to three weeks, especially if you follow some procedures to keep for as long as possible.





Instructions
1. After applying henna paste leaves for four to six hours before peeling it off. The longer you leave it, the darker the tattoo and take longer to fade.

2. Expose your henna tattoo steamed while you put the pasta to keep it moist, to avoid the risk of agrite and to release more dye.

3. Keep your tattoo henna dry for at least 12 hours after removal of the paste.

4. Do not expose your henna tattoo to direct sunlight during the first 48 hours; Keep it covered during this time so that it can fully develop

5. Moisturizes the tattooed area with baby oil once a day to keep the upper layers of the skin healthy and maximize the duration of the tattoo.

6. Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and gently applied to your henna tattoo to seal and protect it from peeling and shaving.

7. Bathe normally, but avoid rubbing the tattooed area. Rub the area gently with a mild soap and dry with a soft towel.

8. Avoid swimming in a pool, chlorine can accelerate color fading. Cover your tattoo with a bandage spray sealer if you want to swim.

9. Avoid saunas and steam baths, which accelerate the natural process of exfoliation and reduce the life of your henna tattoo.
